I'm a landscape photographer living in Greenport, New York. I received my first camera in 1972 when I was eleven. I begged my parents to buy some darkroom equipment for me after I watched a neighbor build a darkroom for himself. I was off and running. My first real assignment came in the fifth grade taking the class photographs for my elementary school. I graduated from Dartmouth College years later in 1984 and stopped shooting while I pursued a career in the newspaper industry. I began to shoot more seriously a few years ago. My images have appeared in a number of publications, including Travel Holiday, Wine Country Living, The Conservationist, Homes Overseas, The Guardian, and the book The Natural History of New York. You can read an article about my work that appeared in Dan's Papers. Prints can be purchased directly from me. If you'd like to see them first, you can view (and purchase) them at the Fiedler Gallery, 207 Main Street, Greenport, New York. You can reach the gallery at (631) 477-4242. Century 21/Agawam Albertson Realty in Greenport has bought 11 of my larger images and is welcoming visitors to view them. Their offices are directly across from Mitchell Park, the home of the carousel.
I'm always shooting and if you'd like to be notified when I've added new work to my site, drop me an e-mail. Occasionally, I shoot commercial and portrait work, and if you're an environmental organization in need of East End photography, e-mail me. I also have a good amount of Greenport stock photography, as well as stock photography for the rest of the North Fork.
If you have any favorite places out here you think would make a good photograph, I'd love to hear about them. And if you happen to be looking to rent a house on the North
Fork for the summer (or off season), a friend of mine rents a beautifully
renovated waterview house in a beach and boating
community in Southold.
